This weekend is our seventh fitness challenge for Helping Hearts 2013 – the Adidas Thunder run – a 24 hour off-road team running race. We’re finally IN this year with race veterans Dan & Grace in a team of 8. Taking place on an off-road course at Catton Hall, near Birmingham, we have to run continuous laps of the 10km course between us. One team member must be on the trail at all times over the 24 hours, which starts at noon on Saturday, so we’ll be doing 3, possibly 4, 10km runs each this weekend and we can’t wait to get there!
Here’s our approximate running schedule if anyone want’s to keep us going with a few motivational texts over the weekend:
First lap Saturday: Dom 150pm, Coz 245pm
Second lap: Dom 910pm, Coz 1005pm
Third lap (Sunday): Dom 430am, Coz 525am
Possible (hopeful?) fourth lap: Dom 1055am, Coz 1150am
The glorious weather as of late is forecast to change tomorrow with a bit of long-awaited rain… but we’re okay with that, as we aren’t that adept at running in the heat anyway!
Wish us luck, and we’ll update you (more timely than with recent challenges*) when we’re done!
*Backlog of race reports from Challenge 5 (the Three Peaks) and Challenge 6 (Bristol to Paris cycle ride) well overdue and in production…
